Perfluorocarbons (PFCs), and hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) emissions are included in the climate impact of chilled transport, if applicable.
The so-called high-altitude effect of aviation is also accounted for. The primary use of Nitrogen Trifluoride (NF3) is in the manufacturing of semi-conductors and LCD panels, so it's not applicable to food production.
The climate footprint is measured in carbon dioxide equivalents (CO2e).
