Biogenic CO2 is not taking into account since CarbonCloud only calculates the carbon footprint from cradle-to-store.
Fuels used during the processing step contribute more to GHG emissions than raw materials do, hence the similar footprints. The significant difference would lie in the biogenic CO2 intensity, which is much higher for virgin materials. However, we don't take this into account since our calculations only extend to the store gate.
